While Santa Rosa is the largest metropolitan city between San Francisco and Portland, it has been under-served in the arts, without a community-based gallery, arts education or performance space. Art centers provide their communities with a resource for art, music, film and literary festivals, salons, art shows, musical events and lectures, for classes, rehearsal and performance spaces.

SRAC’s primary location is at 312 South A Street, Santa Rosa, in the SOFA Arts District. It will sponsor art shows, educational events, music concerts, film and other activities in the gallery space, adjacent backyard and throughout greater Santa Rosa.

The backstory: Since its inception in 2014, Chroma Gallery, located at 312 South A Street, has sponsored art shows, live music concerts, benefits, classes and much more. It has become the anchor for the South of A (SOFA) arts district, as well as a community art center, providing artists of all experience levels the opportunity to exhibit their work in a formal gallery setting. In 2018, Chroma Gallery will transition into a not-for-profit organization, the Santa Rosa Arts Center, an arts and education institution with exhibits, classes, musical performances and events. Art shows and classes will utilize the gallery and backyard areas at 312. SRAC will partner with other spaces and venues in Santa Rosa for classes, workshops and special events.

Santa Rosa Arts Center is a Fiscally Sponsored Project of Inquiring Systems, Inc. (ISI).

ISI is a California Nonprofit 501c3 Corporation.
