Look to Draw Workshop: Basics
Taught by Simmon Factor
Three Thursdays: August 11, 18 and 25 1-3pm $90 materials included
“Drawing is a way of learning to see and to look. Drawing from nature makes you look infinitely more intensely than if you were just lookin…I draw in order to learn.” Henry Moore
Through drawing practice we attempt to meld our eye and mind with our hand to produce a line on a piece of paper, expressing there what we see, think and feel.
In this “basic” drawing workshop we will draw from a photograph of a golden retriever. To give life and character to our dog drawing we will first observe the canine anatomy to better understand what is below the surface. Then we will make two drawing, first in pencil and later using oil pastels.
