Jeff Nathanson is known to many in and around Santa Rosa as the former director of the Museum of Sonoma County. But, he is also an accomplished musician who has played guitar and keyboards with a range of rock, R&B, funk, blues, jazz and gospel groups on the East and West Coasts. Jeff has recorded and performed with various groups including Box Project, Exposure, Minister Carter’s Gospel Review, Uptown Rhythm Unit, Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra, Lapse of Luxury, Norman Salant Group, and The Job. He has opened shows and shared the stage with artists such as Chris Isaak, Brian Auger, the Go Gos, and ‘X’. Jeff also has a passion for improvised music and was music director for Faultline, San Francisco’s legendary improvisational comedy troupe. He also was a regular with the group MIMA (Modern Improvisational Music Appreciation) in Princeton, NJ.
